Answer the following
questions in full sentences. Then check back to the grading criteria to see if you have met your
target grade:
1. My statement of personal aims:
Think about your
contribution to the event and answer the following questions.
a) What do you want to achieve through your
contribution (performance or compositions)? E.g. improve my confidence with
performance by….. develop my skills with…… develop my collaboration skills
by….. (You can write as many realistic and achievable goals
as you like here. I have started the sentence for you below but feel free to
change it if you wish). I want to ,through my skill and passion, entertain people because no matter what if i'm not doing that i wont be truly happy. So no matter what i will always try to do what I want.
Through my contribution
to the event I would like to achieve the following goals:
(Make sure the answer
that you have written relates to your aspirations and expectation of the
performance).
- I want to try my best to entertain people. i just want to preform that is the burning passion within me
- ill do this by playing songs that people like
- and giving them a high display of technical skill
b) What skills do you
have that you can use?
I think that I have the
following skills which I will use to help me achieve these goals…… i am competent at guitar (maybe a understatement or a overstatement) i'm good at guitar, i can play guitar to a high standard, i can play guitar using my teeth, i can play it behind by head i also know a multitude of tapping techniques that allow me to play many songs.
c) How will you know if you have achieved it?
I will know if I’ve
achieved it because…… i will know if i'm bad or good (musicians instinct) and the audiences reactions like wow that's great or no thats was
utter sh!t.
utter sh!t.
d) How will you meet the expectations of the
audience? E.g. will you find out what the audience would like to hear? If so
how? Consider repertoire, quality, length, stage presence etc.i high i play at a high standard i will show the audience my skill at guitar therefore even if they do not like my brand of music they can appreciate my talent and skill at the guitar.
- i will meet the needs of the audience by wowing them with technical skill (tapping playing with my teeth and behind my head + shredding)
2. Plan
of my contribution to the performance
a) What are the requirements of the brief and
how will you meet them? Put the brief into your own words and explain how you
will meet what it is asking for the brief is to play fifteen minute of music to the audience, so that i appeal to most peoples taste i will play three song in some what different genres.
b) What do you intend to do? E.g. I intend to
perform on……… I will play the following songs purple haze cowboys from hell chosen ones sunshine of you love and born under a bad sign First I will play cowboys from hell It will
be a good opening song because it will beat the innocence out of the audiences ear drums (get them awake and aware of the type of music there gonna listen to). This will be a solo/ ensemble? Etc. it will a solo with lots of solos in it.
c) How will you do it? E.g. rehearsals, work
with tutor, record self and listen back to it, dress rehearsal (week before)
etc. i had practiced with a band pretty much on a daily basis but for the most part i practice at home on average 4 hrs a day i'm good on practicing.
d) Who will you need to involve? my new band sound crew (competent) movers of my gear (mom and dad probably)
e) What resources will you need? my amp (a orange 4x12 (british made of course) and orange cr 120 amp head) my guitars (a prs torero a gibson 2016 pro model flying v a Gretsch electro acoustic, a 1960s audition (japanese guitar) , a ibanez bass ( my first instrument )this is 5 of my 6 guitar.
f) What time is needed for each song/
activity (e.g. dress rehearsal/ recording)? it depends on the song but a lot of what i've written has gone over 4 minutes. and what i'm playing goes over 4 minutes as well. 4 minutes is good its a average time of song in the charts, this is good this means that the audience wont over or underwhelmed by what i play.
g) What are the health and safety issues for
rehearsals and the performances (think of noise levels, cables, audience,
working with others) there is one big risk and that is electrocution, this reason this is a issue is that you're dealing equipment that has the potential to send thousands upon thousands of Amps of electricity into you this has the potential to kill you instantly, this has been so much a issue that it evan killed the lead singer of the yardbirds in his home studio ,Keith Relf. you can also damage your hearing if you have the levels to loud (although damage is more to do with the those sound being trapped in a too small a area and continuously booming (due to the small space) thats causes the damage, if you where to say be in a large field you would be fine to turn up the volume as the those sound waves would dissipate before any damage is done (though is the sound is loud enough your ears can be left ringing).
Now type up neatly and
clearly your set list for the programme. Make sure it includes full titles of
songs, original artists and the names of anyone you will perform it with.
My set list:
purple haze
cowboys from hell
chosen ones
sunshine of your love

the event. Make sure you justify your choices (is it appropriate for the
audience?) well my style is metal hard rock or well what ever i like jazz also but honestly i would like to some hard rock blues and metal, and i hope that the event and therefore the audience likes that sort of music.
